Mowing Crew Leader – South
Citywide is recruiting for a Mowing Crew Leader to lead a team within our prestigious open space contract in Melbourne’s CBD, maintaining some of the City’s most iconic parks and gardens.
- Shrine of Remembrance Depot
- Monday to Friday 7am to 3.06pm
- Use of Vehicle
Responsibilities of the roles include but are not limited to:
- Caring for City of Melbourne’s high-profile open space parks and gardens including Shrine of Remembrance, Alexandra Gardens, King’s Domain, Queen Victoria Gardens and Fawkner Park
- Leading the team to complete scheduled turf maintenance using ride-on mowers, push mowers, line-trimmers, lawn edgers and leaf blowers
- Using software to follow a schedule and sign off jobs
- Daily maintenance of both small and large plant machinery
- Identification of turf defects
- Liaise with the Turf Supervisor to ensure the delivery of our contract with City of Melbourne
Skills and experience required:
- Previous relevant experience in a horticulture or turf maintenance role
- Experience leading a team or the ability to step into a leadership role
- Cert 3 in Horticulture or equivalent (Desirable)
- MR Licence (Desirable)
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence
- Knowledge of herbicide application techniques (Desirable)
- Traffic Management experience (Desirable)
- First Aid (Desirable)
- Disease and Pest Control Identification Certificate (Desirable)
- Working With Children Card
- Excellent time management, communication and people skills
- A desire to produce high quality, usable spaces for the community
- Focus on safety of self and others
