Infrastructure and Playgrounds Inspector

 

Citywide are recruiting for an Infrastructure and Playgrounds Inspector to work within our prestigious Mornington Open Space contract. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day inspections of playgrounds and infrastructure to ensure that the facilities and equipment are in good working condition and safe to use.

 

Duties of the role include but are not limited to: 

  • Developing safety management programmes to ensure playgrounds comply with safety regulations
  • Identifying hazards in the playgrounds and surrounding areas
  • Inspecting equipment, surfacing and furniture, reporting all defects
  • Performing safety inspections of playground facilities and equipment
  • Conducting qualitative assessments to identify items and functions that fail to comply with standards, are hazardous etc.
  • Working to rectify issues arising from the annual comprehensive inspection report
  • Alerting the Client to any condition in the playground identified as an existing hazard or has the potential to become hazardous
  • Safely use a range of vehicles, machinery, equipment and tools required to maintain playground and general open space infrastructure such as pathways, park and reserve drains, park furniture, signage, barbecues, bollards, fencing, drink fountains, retaining walls, goal posts etc.
  • Working as part of the infrastructure team to deliver on contract requirements

 

Skills & Qualifications required:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
  • Trade certificate AQF Level 4 or equivalent
  • AHCPGD206 Conduct visual inspection of park facilities
  • AHCPGD305 Conduct operational inspection of park facilities
  • Experience using tools and machinery
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and problem solving
  • Team orientated as well as able to work autonomously
  • Police Check Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current valid Victorian Drivers Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Traffic Management
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good timekeeping skills
