Fleet & Equipment Procurement Lead

 

Citywide are recruiting for an experienced and detail-oriented Fleet & Equipment Procurement Lead to provide expertise to manage fleet lifecycle, including sourcing, procurement and disposal of assets.

About the role

Reporting to the Group Asset Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring effective processes are in place to manage the lifecycle of fleet, plant and equipment, ensuring new assets are fit for purpose, safe and compliant, and asset disposals are managed to maximise the return to the business.

 

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and document the fleet lifecycle management framework, including standardised processes, to direct the sourcing and procurement of assets.
  • Develop a multiyear fleet replacement plan and annual capital budget in conjunction with operations.
  • Source and procure approved capital asset items in accordance with the fleet lifecycle.
  • Develop and document standardised asset specifications and preferred supplier details for key asset categories
  • Create and maintain asset master data within fleet systems and retain key documents relative to capital expenditure.
  • Administer the asset disposal approval process and manage the physical disposal of assets.
  • Engage with Citywide Procurement in relation to fleet related Supplier contracts and the supplier relationship management processes.
  • Recommend improvements to the asset procurement processes to deliver value return to the business.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the utilisation of the existing vehicle fleet as part of managing capital expenditure.
  • Provide fleet lifecycle analytics and reporting.
  • Liaise with and inform stakeholders on key activities.

 

Skills and Attributes required to be successful in this role:

  • Understanding of asset specifications, whole of life cost and serviceability in relation to asset selection and procurement.
  • Knowledge and experience in preparing and documenting specifications for asset procurement.
  • Working knowledge of asset sourcing and procurement processes.
  • High level capability with excel spreadsheets, including analysing data and reporting.
  • Skilled in negotiating with suppliers and contract principles.
  • Capital management and cost control expertise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to understand operational requirements impacting on asset needs.
  • Experience with the use of fleet management systems and governance of asset data.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
