Citywide have a fabulous opportunity for an individual with Arboriculture experience to join the South East tree team as an Operations Supervisor.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the coordination of tree maintenance services, leading a close-knit and competent team to deliver quality service outcomes safely, on time and cost effectively.

The successful candidate will be a results and commercially oriented individual with a strong background in arboriculture. You will have the ability to make independent on the spot decisions, manage and motivate a team and provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of work programs and schedules ensuring compliance with OH&S policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for the safe operation of the work contract, and contribute towards safety initiatives.
  • Conducting scheduled and non-scheduled site checks to ensure compliance with policies & procedures.
  • Ensuring the team is adequately trained to safely and effectively fulfil their role.
  • Review incidents/near misses in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Manage financial aspects of the assigned work contract, including development and interpretation of annual budget, identification of capital requirements and approval of purchases.
  • Manage the team to ensure an efficient and effective service is provided.
  • Purchase equipment and stock for the work contract.
  • Ensuring Time and Attendance for the team is recorded accurately and on time.
  • Build the Citywide brand relationship with clients as one of trust, understanding and service.
  • Manage the relationship between Citywide and the client.
  • Report on contract performance.
  • Ensure all assets are maintained and utilised in accordance with the fleet scheduling systems and policies.
  • Ensure an efficient and effective service is provided to the customer.
  • Ensure all employee issues are identified and actioned in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring monthly toolbox meetings are held across work contract.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety are applied.

 

 Skills and qualifications required:

  • Proven industry experience in tree maintenance
  • Certificate III in Arboriculture or higher
  • Elevated Work Platforms Certificate
  • Chemical Certificate
  • Traffic Management
  • First Aid
  • Chainsaw Licence
  • ESI II Certificate (contract specific) is desirable
  • MR Licence is desirable
  • Ability to supervise and manage large work teams
  • Knowledge of OH&S practices, IR and Environmental Legislation
  • Experience in understanding, operating within and reporting on budgets
  • Experience in leading and developing a team
  • Proven track record in delivering results
  • Effective communication skills, problem solving, time management skills
