Transfer Station Supervisor

 

Citywide are recruiting for a Transfer Station Supervisor to join the team based at our Dynon Road facility. This site processes a high volume of waste and operates 24 hours a day to provide a disposal point for commercial customers.

In this role you will manage day to day operations and lead a team that work over 3 shifts. This is a hands-on role which will see you maintaining customer relationships, managing costs according to budget and ensuring safety and compliance.

 

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage day to day activities and oversee all loader and excavator staff on site.
  • Develop and lead a high performing team, addressing and resolving all issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular toolbox meetings.
  • Proactively foster and maintain a positive culture.
  • Manage and maintain the Transfer Station floor, pits, all associated plant equipment and machinery including loaders, excavators and posi track.
  • Ensure the maintenance of all associated equipment.
  • Ensure trailers are loaded with KPI metrics.
  • Follow LEAN processes to ensure that KPIs are met daily.
  • Ensure the safety of self, colleagues, customers, contractors and the general public.
  • Participate in the development of annual business strategy.
  • Manage costs in accordance to the budget.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety are applied, following processes, procedures, SWMS & SOPs.
  • Perform other duties within the scope of the role.

 

Skill and qualifications required:

  • Experience working within technical operations such as a transfer station, glass plant or a large facility.
  • At least years’ proven technical experience or trade qualification in boiler making or a degree in engineering.
  • Experience managing teams with sustained productivity levels
  • Strong skill and proven ability in the in the principles of negotiation and dealing with people related matters.
  • Strong ability to be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Experience using Microsoft packages.
  • Excavator and Front End Loader tickets
  • Valid Victorian Driver Licence
