Irrigation and Water Specialist

 

Citywide is recruiting for an Irrigation and Water Specialist to work within our prestigious open space contract in Melbourne’s CBD. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems within the parks, gardens, reserves and streetscapes of the CBD.

 

  • Fitzroy Gardens Depot
  • Monday to Friday 7am to 3.06pm
  • Competitive hourly rate and use of vehicle

 

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Delivery of irrigation requirements.
  • Audit, manage, maintain and improve irrigation systems.
  • Maximise use of harvested and reclaimed water.
  • Ensure public health and the environment is not compromised in delivery of irrigation and water management services.
  • Analyse a range of data to identify trends and inform irrigation programs, work programs and reporting e,g soil moisture, BoM.
  • Use a range of digital systems including IRRinet-ICCPRO, Rainbird and Swan.
  • Prepare, implement and regularly adjust irrigation programs, auditing schedules etc.
  • Maintain records of works performed.
  • Provide reports on irrigation auditing, works undertaken, asset condition etc.
  • Undertake fault finding investigations.
  • Ensure pre and post irrigation audits, mark-outs and repairs are completed in time for events and other works.
  • Other duties as required within the scope of the role.

 

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous experience with irrigation and maintenance and repair
  • AQF Level 4 in water related field or relevant experience
  • Experience in installing, maintaining, programming and repairing irrigation systems
  • Experience reading and interpreting irrigation drawings and plans
  • Experience using Irrinet
  • Water feature maintenance (Desirable)
  • Storm water harvesting system maintenance (Desirable)
  • General plumbing experience (Desirable)
  • Team orientated and highly motivated
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Working With Children Check
