Water Features Technician
Citywide is recruiting for a Water Features Technician to work within our prestigious open space contract in Melbourne’s CBD. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining water assets in some of the City’s most iconic parks and gardens.
- Fitzroy Gardens Depot
- Monday to Friday 7am to 3.06pm
- Competitive hourly rate and use of vehicle
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Maintain all water assets.
- Service fountains and ponds on a daily basis to ensure that they are free of litter, leaves and debris.
- Regularly test and chemical dose water.
- Undertake major cleans and repairs of water features.
- Servicing and maintain assets such as UV lamps, aerators, filters and pumps etc.
- Assist in all areas of the Water Team including plumbing, irrigation and storm water as required.
- Keep records and report all issues, defects and repairs.
- Assist the Water Manager to quote new or reinstated works as required.
- Liaise with sub-contractors and supervise works.
- Be available for on-call roster from time to time.
Skills and experience required:
- Certificated Plumber AQF Level 4
- Experience in maintaining, installing and repairing fountains, ponds and water features
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence
- First Aid Certificate
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong time keeping skills
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated, team orientated and able to work autonomously
- Working With Children Check
