We are currently recruiting for an experienced Arborist to lead a team that undertakes the full scope of tree maintenance services including detailed condition audits, pruning, tree removal, travel tower work (EWP), electrical line clearance, climbing, chipper operation and stump removal.
This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated leader to gain exposure on the most blue-ribbon contract in Australia, managing Heritage listed and world-renowned Elms in Carlton Gardens, trees within the iconic Fitzroy Gardens and the Shrine of Remembrance. The work is vast and varied from ground and formative pruning, EWP powerline, climbing, use of specialised equipment including EWPs, tipper/chipper trucks, front end loaders, spiderlifts, etc.

As the Team Leader you will be actively involved in day-to-day tree maintenance works, as well as directing and managing operational activities and training/mentoring staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure duties are carried out considering safety of employees, contractors and the public
- Participate in the completion of work with teams in the field (>75%)
- Train staff in all aspects of arboriculture
- Accurately report daily performance
- Assist with coordination of operational and day to day activities
- Observe and report on broader issues that may impact on service delivery
- Demonstrate initiative and/continuous improvement
- Support a high-performance team culture through effective leadership, coaching and performance feedback.
- Ensure maintenance of fleet, logbooks and vehicle inspections
- Identify and resolve work problems on site
- Ensure duties are carried out considering safety of employees, contractors and the public
- Report staff performance issues to supervisor
Required Skills:
- Interest in tree management/maintenance

- Experience dealing with customers, clients and members of the public.

Desirable skills and qualifications but not essential:
- Previous leadership experience
- Industry experience
- Certificate III in Arboriculture
- Current MR licence
- Certificate II ESI
- Tree climbing experience and qualifications
