Citywide is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Procurement Officer to lead and optimise the purchasing function. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all procurement activities deliver maximum value, efficiency and compliance across the business. You will be accountable for the development and implementation of the procurement strategy, driving best practice in processes, procurement infrastructure and commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the strategic Purchasing/Procurement plan
- Develop, implement and regularly review policies, procedures, systems and standards
- Examine economic and market trends and conditions
- Develop annual business unit/functional plans to deliver the strategy and communicate to stakeholders
- Educate and provide operations with procurement procedures that maximise purchasing power
- Establish Customer/Suppliers agreement on all major product and all supply aspects
- Monitoring suppliers and overseeing purchasing activities
- Overseeing the preparation of tenders, proposals and the negotiation of contracts in relation to procurement
- Drive efficiencies and improvements in all business procurement and inventory decisions and identify savings across all divisions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Establish & maintain strong relationships with Key Suppliers
- Ensure all procurement activities meet a broad range of legislative, probity, and regulatory obligations
Skills and qualifications required:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Procurement, Business, Supply Chain or equivalent professional experience
- Proven experience in procurement and souring, ideally at senior or strategic level
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, commercial best practice and supplier management
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement procurement strategies
- Knowledge of procurement systems, tools and infrastructure, with a focus on process improvement
- Excellent written, verbal, listening and interpersonal communication skills
- Well-developed negotiation skills
- Good stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong customer relationships
- Sound judgment, interpretive skills and informed decision making
