About the role
Citywide is seeking an experienced IT Service & Operations Manager to lead the reliable, secure and cost-effective delivery of technology services across the organisation. This hands-on leadership role will oversee IT operations, service management, applications, infrastructure, vendors and operational risk.
Working closely with business leaders and technology partners, you will ensure Citywide’s systems and services are resilient, well governed and aligned to operational needs. This role is central to delivering our IT Roadmap, including strengthening governance, improving cyber resilience, stabilising reporting and building a capable, accountable team with reduced single-person dependencies.
What you'll be doing
- Lead IT service delivery across service desk, applications, infrastructure, end-user support and core business systems
- Manage internal teams and external service providers to deliver responsive, reliable and business-aligned support
- Drive governance, prioritisation, reporting and continuous improvement across ICT services and the approved IT Roadmap
- Support cyber resilience, infrastructure operations, application lifecycle management and core business system stability
- Oversee vendor performance, ICT cost visibility, service levels, renewals and practical improvement opportunities
- Lead, coach and develop a capable IT team with clear accountabilities and a strong service mindset
Skills and qualifications required
- Proven experience leading IT service delivery, operations, application support, infrastructure coordination and vendor management
- Strong technical breadth across Microsoft 365, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, service desk operations, business applications, cyber risk and reporting environments
- Practical understanding of ITIL or equivalent service management practices
- Commercial acumen, including budget awareness, licence and vendor rationalisation, cost control and business case input
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into clear business, financial, risk and operational implications
- A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to coach technical staff, build capability and strengthen service culture
